There will come a happy ending.
If he gets a gold medal,
If he saves the clan, or
Saves the girl, even.
If they steal the right hearts,
Or take back the right desires,
Or win the big game.
If she wins this court case,
If she has a perfect concert,
If she can have the baby.
Then maybe, if we listen closely,
There will be no mourning at the graveyard,
No calls for no more fighting,
No regrets on how quickly you made it,
No tears about tomorrow.
If only a happy ending were that easy.
Someone must be the dragon--self sacrifice,
But some of us sleep easy at night knowing
We made the right choice to help others.
Our happiness is dependent on the happiness of others.
We watch their happy ending--
That is our happy ending.
