Just For Now

As you lie with me,
Nothing else in the moment matters.
Maybe later I will be frustrated with the
Greasy menthol stains on my bedsheets
Or your boxers discarded at the foot of my closet
Or my distasteful morning odor.
But not now--now is a time for us.
Flesh on flesh, bone on bone.
Rend our souls with what we've done.
And that woman was right, you know;
You truly are the keeper of my sorrows.
Hold them tight between your calloused hands
And never, ever let go.
